Pitching Lessons at Bridge PTP: The Story Behind the Service
At Bridge Physical Therapy and Performance, we don’t just offer pitching lessons—we’ve built a service rooted in injury prevention, performance enhancement, and a deep understanding of the physical demands on athletes. It all started because one of our founders is a pitching coach at a local high school and we worked closely with a hitting facility so we did rehab for many baseball players. As we worked with these athletes, lots of them getting ready to pitch again, we made specialized throwing programs as part of their rehab. To meet this need safely, we built a pitching cage—playing catch was a little scary without one.
Soon, Alec started using the cage for non-injury-related throwing as well. Before long, what started as a rehab necessity grew into a full-fledged pitching service. We knew if we were going to offer pitching lessons, we needed to do it right. That commitment led us to invest in a Trackman, hire top-notch coaches, and do lots of research to ensure a top-tier experience with the results people were looking for.
What sets our service apart is our understanding of physical therapy, pitching mechanics, strength and conditioning, and a commitment to evidence-based practices. We bring a unique focus on keeping pitchers healthy through every phase of their training, which is why having physical therapists in-house is crucial. We’ve seen firsthand how the stress of throwing can lead to injury and we want to make sure our athletes can stay in the game. Whether it’s a minor tweak or a major mechanical change, we’re here for both rehab and performance.
Our pitching lessons are highly focused, but we keep the atmosphere light and enjoyable. We understand that pitching, like rehab, has its ups and downs, but we’re with you every step of the way. Our coaches emphasize the importance of rotation in pitching mechanics while paying attention to every detail—without making it feel burdensome or pressured. It’s all about finding the right balance to help you succeed.
